„Fürth – A Perfect Day in the Cloverleaf City”

With over 2,000 historic buildings, Fürth is considered the city with the highest density of historic monuments in Bavaria. Among the most striking structures are City Hall and the Municipal Theater, while the grand boulevards, with their Art Nouveau and Historicist facades, evoke the era of Germany’s first railways. Fürth was also an important center of Jewish life, earning the city the title “Franconian Jerusalem.” The cityscape is complemented by the sprawling city park and the Old Town with Gustavstraße, characterized by half-timbered and slate-roofed houses. Amid idyllic green spaces, impressive architecture, and cultural highlights, you can plan the perfect day here.

10:00 – 11:30 a.m.: City Walks – Experience History Up Close

The day begins with a city walk organized by the Fürth Tourist Information Office, offering a unique way to explore the “Cloverleaf City.” Authentic and humorous guided tours convey over 1,000 years of history, showcase more than 2,000 architectural landmarks, hidden corners, and lovingly restored courtyards, and provide insights into the lives of local residents. Depending on the theme, tours are available in German, English, French, Polish, Danish, Czech, or Spanish; a maximum of 25 people can participate per group.

12:00 PM – 1:00 PM: Time for a snack

For those looking for a quick bite, Kaffeebohne offers a wide variety of options. Freshly made baguettes, hearty tarte flambée, and crisp salads are prepared using high-quality regional ingredients. Whether you prefer classic or vegetarian options, there’s something here for everyone. Kaffeebohne features several side rooms (seating up to 40 people) as well as a garden area (seating up to 30 people).

1:00 – 3:00 PM: Off to the museum!

We continue with a detour to the city’s diverse museum scene. At the Ludwig Erhard Center, visitors not only immerse themselves in the life of the famous Fürth native, Federal Chancellor, and “Father of the Social Market Economy,” but also experience the economic development following World War II in a vivid way—the era of the economic miracle comes to life particularly well at Café Luise. Those interested in Jewish history will find fascinating insights into the life and work of the Jewish community in Fürth and Franconia at the Jewish Museum of Franconia. Both museums offer guided tours that make the visit particularly informative and engaging.

3:00 – 4:00 PM: Coffee break at Kaffeesurium

At Kaffeesurium, you can enjoy a relaxing break with hand-roasted specialty coffee and delicious cake. The cozy atmosphere invites you to unwind and lets you experience their passion for high-quality coffee. The roastery in the heart of Fürth can accommodate up to 25 people.

4:00 – 6:00 PM: Stroll through the city

A stroll through the city center combines shopping, relaxed wandering, and new discoveries. It’s especially worth looking up: the magnificent facades of the western part of downtown delight with their elegant architecture and are almost reminiscent of Paris. Those looking to enjoy some peace and nature in between will find an idyllic retreat in the nearby city park. The route leads along Schwabacher Straße through the city center toward the Grüner Brauhaus and Comödie.

6:00 – 7:30 p.m.: A social evening at the Grüner Brauhaus

Dinner at the Grüner Brauhaus combines Franconian hospitality with hearty regional specialties. In an atmospheric setting, you can enjoy hearty brewery classics and freshly tapped Grüner beer. Whether in the spacious dining room, the adjoining room, or the cozy beer garden—this is the perfect way to enjoyably round off an eventful day in Fürth. The brewery offers over 200 seats and, in the summer, a large beer garden.

7:30 PM – 10:00 PM: Performance at the Comödie

The Comödie Fürth is located in the same building as the Grüner Brauhaus—the stylish Berolzheimerianum. This historic venue delights audiences with a diverse program featuring comedies, cabaret, and guest performances. With a little luck, the two hosts, Heissmann & Rassau, will even take the stage in person and create unforgettable theatrical moments.
