11:00 a.m. – Group Tour: History Up Close

On a guided city tour, the group explores Coburg at authentic historical sites. The tour winds through the Old Town and recounts daily life in centuries past, the city’s time as a royal residence, and the significance of the Duchy of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. Experienced tour guides provide in-depth background information and supplement it with lesser-known stories from the city’s history. The tour is also available in several foreign languages and is well-suited for international groups.

1:00 p.m. – Coburg bratwurst at the market square

At lunchtime, a culinary classic is an absolute must. The Coburg bratwurst is traditionally grilled over pine cones and is known not only for its taste but also for its standard size. A quick stop at the market square combines culinary delight with a taste of the city’s vibrant culture.

1:30 p.m. – Hofgarten and Veste Coburg or Ehrenburg Castle

In the afternoon, take a stroll through the Hofgarten, which connects the Old Town with Veste Coburg. The path offers beautiful views and leads up to the imposing castle complex, which houses significant art collections and offers a deep immersion into history. Alternatively, the group can visit Ehrenburg Castle on Schlossplatz. The neo-Gothic façade and Baroque-style interiors vividly convey the era of the Dukes of Coburg.

5:30 PM – Dinner in the Old Town

After an eventful day, restaurants and traditional taverns invite you to enjoy dinner together. Franconian cuisine, regional beers, or a glass of Franconian wine ensure a delightful end to the day in a relaxed atmosphere.

7:00 PM – Theater or an evening in the city

In the evening, various cultural options are available. A visit to the Landestheater Coburg at the GLOBE COBURG offers plays, opera, concerts, or ballet. Alternatively, round out the day with a drink at one of the bars around Steinweg.
